Dua for the Acceptance of Tawaf and Sa'i

Hajj & Umrah
QuranAl-Baqarah 2:127

رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا إِنَّكَ أَنتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed, You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

Rabbana taqabbal minna innaka Antas-Sami'ul-'Alim

When to Read

The moment you complete your Tawaf around the Kaaba or finish your final lap of Sa'i between Safa and Marwa, a profound sense of accomplishment washes over you. This is a special time to turn to Allah, seeking His acceptance for your efforts. While there isn't a single, specific Sunnah dua for *immediately after* the final circuit or lap, this powerful Quranic plea, uttered by Prophet Ibrahim and Isma'il (peace be upon them) as they built the Kaaba itself, is immensely fitting. Make this dua from the heart, expressing your hope that Allah accepts your worship.

How to Read

Approach this dua with a heart full of humility and sincere hope. Understand that acceptance of deeds is entirely from Allah's grace. Make this dua with unwavering conviction in Allah's attributes as the All-Hearing (As-Sami') and All-Knowing (Al-'Alim), believing that He truly listens to your supplication and is aware of every step you took and every intention you held during your pilgrimage. Raise your hands in dua, if appropriate, and let your voice reflect your earnest plea.

Virtues & Benefits

Reciting this dua after completing Tawaf and Sa'i carries profound significance: * **Emulating Prophetic Piety:** You are following in the footsteps of Prophet Ibrahim and Isma'il (peace be upon them), who, despite their monumental effort in building the Kaaba, humbly sought Allah's acceptance. This teaches us that no act of worship, however grand, guarantees acceptance without Allah's mercy. * **Seeking the Ultimate Reward:** The goal of every Muslim performing Hajj or Umrah is an accepted pilgrimage – a *Hajj Mabrur* or *Umrah Mabrurah*. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Umrah to Umrah is an expiation for what is between them, and Hajj Mabrur (an accepted Hajj) has no reward but Paradise." (Sahih al-Bukhari 1773, Sahih Muslim 1349). Making this dua is a direct appeal for that ultimate acceptance and reward. * **Affirming Allah's Attributes:** By calling upon Allah as *As-Sami'* (the All-Hearing) and *Al-'Alim* (the All-Knowing), you acknowledge that He hears your silent prayers and knows the sincerity within your heart, your exhaustion, and your devotion throughout your sacred journey. * **Cultivating Humility and Hope:** It reminds us that our deeds are ultimately imperfect and rely on Allah's grace for their validity. This fosters a deep sense of humility while simultaneously instilling hope in His infinite mercy and generosity.
