โœฆ

O Allah, make our Hajj a righteous Hajj, our efforts appreciated, our sins forgiven, our deeds accepted, and our Umrah a righteous Umrah. Do not disappoint our hopes in us, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

When to Read

This is a comprehensive dua that encapsulates the essence of seeking acceptance for the rites performed during Hajj and Umrah. While specifically a plea related to these pilgrimages, its spirit can be invoked after performing any significant act of worship. You can recite it in the days and weeks following Hajj or Umrah, as a personal reflection and a way to continue seeking Allah's grace. It's also beautiful to make such a plea *before* and *during* the pilgrimage to ask for acceptance from the outset.

How to Read

Recite with sincerity and a hopeful heart, reflecting on the profound spiritual journey of Hajj and Umrah. Understand that the acceptance of deeds is solely in Allah's hands. The essence is to acknowledge our effort and earnestly ask for His favour. Picture yourself still in the sacred lands, making this heartfelt supplication. Ensure your focus is on seeking Allah's pleasure and the lasting impact of these blessed rituals on your life.

Virtues & Benefits

The primary benefit is seeking Allah's acceptance of the immense efforts and sacrifices made during Hajj and Umrah. A 'Mabroor' Hajj, one that is accepted, is described as having no reward other than Paradise (Sahih al-Bukhari 1521). This dua extends that plea beyond the physical act, asking for the *lessons* and spiritual purity gained to be sustained, leading to a more righteous life. It's a way to 'lock in' the blessings, praying that the transformation experienced during the pilgrimage continues to guide your actions and intentions in everyday life, keeping you connected to the spiritual highs long after you've returned home.
