Source & Authentication

Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said: The Prophet ﷺ said, when he entered a town he did not visit before: 'O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and what they overshadow, Lord of the seven earths and what they carry, Lord of the devils and those whom they mislead, Lord of the winds and what they scatter, we ask You for the good of this town and the good of what is in it, and we seek refuge in You from the evil of this town and the evil of what is in it. We seek refuge in You from the evil of its inhabitants and the evil of what is in it. O Allah, grant us provision from its sustenance and make us lovers of its people, and make its righteous people our helpers and provide us with its sustenance.' (Sahih according to Al-Albani, but he mentioned that this version is with slight variations in the wording of the latter part, and attributed the earlier part to Muslim and Nasa'i, and he deemed the whole hadith as Hasan in 'Sunan Abi Dawud'.)
