O Allah, accept from us our Hajj and Umrah, make our Hajj firm, forgive us, our parents, our families, and all Muslim men and women, and believing men and women, the living among them and the dead. Make it an accepted Hajj, a appreciated effort, a forgiven sin, and accepted deeds, and a trade that will never perish, O Knower, O Most Grateful. O Allah, grant us security in our homelands, reform our rulers, and let their might be against those who oppress us, and make it a source of honor for the Muslims and humiliation for the disbelievers. Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
Allahumma taqabbal minna hajjanā wa 'umratanā, wa thabbit hajjanā, waghfir lanā, wa liwālidaynā, wa li'ahlīnā, wa lijamī'il-musliimīn wal-musliimāt, wal-mu'minīn wal-mu'mināt, al-aḥyā'i minhum wal-amwāt, waj'alhu ḥajjā mabrooran, wa sa'yan mashkooran, wa dhanban maghfooran, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan, wa tijāratan lan taboor, yā 'Alīmu yā Shakoor. Allahumma āminnā fī awṭāninā, wa aṣliḥ wulāta umūrinā, waj'al ba'sahum 'alā man ẓalamanā, waj'alhu lil-musliimīn 'izzan, wal-kuffāri dhullan. Rabbanā ātina fid-dunyā ḥasanatan wa fil-ākhirati ḥasanatan wa qinā 'adhāban-nār.
When to Read
This comprehensive dua is most fitting to be recited after completing the rituals of Hajj or Umrah. It can be made during the stay in Makkah, especially after Tawaf al-Wada' (the farewell circumambulation), or even after returning home, reflecting on the completed journey. It's also a powerful dua to make during the days of Hajj itself, especially on the Day of Arafah or during Tawaf.
How to Read
Recite with sincere intention and a hopeful heart. Face the Kaaba if possible, or towards it. Raise your hands in supplication, as is the Sunnah for many duas. Pour out your heart, seeking Allah's immense mercy and acceptance. It's recommended to make this dua facing the Qiblah. Begin by seeking Allah's acceptance for your specific acts of worship (Hajj and Umrah), then extend your supplication to encompass your loved ones and the entire Ummah, asking for forgiveness, security, and righteous leadership. Conclude with the universally accepted supplication from the Quran.
Virtues & Benefits
Seeking acceptance for Hajj and Umrah is paramount, as the Prophet ﷺ said: 'The accepted Hajj is nothing less than Paradise.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 1783). This dua combines the request for acceptance with a plea for forgiveness, firm faith, and the well-being of the entire Muslim community. It acknowledges Allah's attributes of Knowledge (Al-'Alim) and Gratitude (Ash-Shakoor), recognizing that He sees all our efforts and rewards even the smallest good deed. The inclusion of the Quranic verse 'Rabbana atina...' (Al-Baqarah 2:201) is a comprehensive supplication for both worldly and otherworldly good, a practice the Prophet ﷺ often made.
