Narrated by Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'When the Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) left Makkah, he said: 'O Allah, they have called this house Baitullah (House of Allah), and it is the first House built for the worship of Allah on earth.' He then invoked Allah saying: 'O Allah, increase this House in honor, nobility, reverence, and righteousness.' And it is the same as that which is mentioned in the Quran: > **Arabic:** رَبَّنَا إِنِّي أَسْكَنتُ مِن ذُرِّيَّتِي بِوَادٍ غَيْرِ ذِي زَرْعٍ عِندَ بَيْتِكَ الْمُحَرَّمِ رَبَّنَا لِيُقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ فَاجْعَلْ أَفْئِدَةً مِّنَ النَّاسِ تَهْوِي إِلَيْهِمْ وَارْزُقْهُم مِّنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَشْكُرُونَ > **Translation:** 'Our Lord, I have settled some of my offspring in a valley without cultivation, at Your sacred House, our Lord, that they may establish prayer. So make hearts of the people incline toward them and provide for them of the fruits that they may be grateful.' (Quran 14:37) Ibn Abbas said: 'The Prophet Ibrahim invoked Allah for three things: 'Allah, increase this House in honor, nobility, reverence, and righteousness.' He then said: 'Allah made it increase in honor and nobility and reverence and righteousness.' He also said: 'Allah made it so that the hearts of the people incline toward them.' He said: 'Allah made it so that the hearts of the people incline toward them.' He also said: 'Allah provided them with fruits.' He said: 'Allah provided them with fruits.'
