Gratitude
Hasan HadithSunan al-Tirmidhi 961

O Allah, increase this House (the Kaaba) in honor, magnificence, dignity, and reverence. And increase those who have honored and dignified it, from those who performed Hajj or Umrah to it, in honor, dignity, and righteousness.

Allahumma zid baytaka hadha tashrifan wa ta'dhiman wa takriman wa ihshaman, wa zid man sharrafahu wa karramahu mimman hajjahu awi'tamaraahu tashrifan wa takriman wa birran.

Reciting it can be done at any point one beholds the Kaaba, whether in person or even through images, as a reminder of Allah's blessings.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincere intention and a heart full of awe and reverence for Allah's House. Focus your gaze upon the Kaaba if possible, reflecting on its significance as the Qibla for Muslims worldwide and the focal point of the Hajj pilgrimage. It is recommended to raise your hands slightly while making this dua, as was the practice of the Prophet ﷺ in similar supplications.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua embodies a deep sense of gratitude for the immense blessing of being able to see the Kaaba, the holiest site in Islam. It acknowledges the sanctity and honor bestowed upon the Kaaba by Allah and seeks to increase that honor. Furthermore, it extends the prayer to those who strive to visit and perform rituals at the Kaaba, asking for their blessings and acceptance. Witnessing the Kaaba is a spiritual experience that can strengthen one's faith and connection to Allah, and this dua serves to amplify those feelings of devotion and thankfulness.

Source & Authentication

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to supplicate when he stood up for (the prayer of) Tawaf around the Kaaba seven times: 'Glory be to Allah! Praise be to Allah! There is no god but Allah. Allah is the Greatest! There is no power nor strength except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great.' And when he stood between Ar-Rukn Al-Yamani and the Black Stone, he would say: 'O Allah, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.' Then he would say: 'O Allah, increase this House (the Kaaba) in honor, magnificence, dignity, and reverence. And increase those who have honored and dignified it, from those who performed Hajj or Umrah to it, in honor, dignity, and righteousness.' He would say this five times in all.
