Source & Authentication

Narrated Hudhaifa: Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) got up for the night to offer the night prayer, he would say: 'Allah Akbar! The Lord of the Heavens and the Lord of the earth, the Lord of the firmament, the Lord of the darkness and light, the Knower of the unseen and the seen, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O our Lord! the Lord of everything! I ask You (O Allah!) for the good of this night and the good of what is in it and the good of what it is meant to do. And I seek refuge in You from the evil of this night and the evil of what is in it and the evil of what it is meant to do. And I seek refuge in You from arrogance and the evil of debt.' And when he woke up from sleep, he would say: 'All praise is due to Allah Who gave us life after causing us to die, and to Him is the return.'
