O Allah, I ask You for Your love, and the love of those who love You, and the love of deeds which bring me to Your love. O Allah, make Your love more beloved to me than myself, and my family, and than cold water.
Allahumma inni as'aluka hubbaka, wa hubba man yuhibbuk, wal-'amala alladhi yuballighuni hubbak. Allahumma'jal hubbaka ahabba ilayya min nafsi, wa ahli, wa minal-ma'il-barid.

It also connects this love to action, reminding us that love for Allah is demonstrated through deeds that please Him. By making Allah's love more precious than anything else, including oneself and one's family, we are striving for the highest level of servitude and devotion. The comparison to 'cold water' highlights how indispensable and vital Allah's love becomes in our lives, especially in times of need or hardship.
