Virtues & Benefits
While this specific dua doesn't directly mention 'forgiveness' or 'grudges', its encompassing nature is key. By asking Allah for forgiveness, mercy, guidance, well-being, provision, mending, and elevation, we are seeking the very qualities and strength needed to overcome negative emotions. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ mentioned the immense reward for those who forgive: 'The believer who is forgiving and forbearing, and whose anger is restrained, will have his forgiveness increased by Allah.' (Al-Kafi, narrated by Abu Abdullah (AS)). Furthermore, seeking refuge from the distress of this life and the Day of Resurrection reminds us of the temporary nature of worldly grievances and the eternal consequences of our actions and attitudes.

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the distress of this life and the distress of the Day of Resurrection.'
