O Allah, guide me to the best of manners, for no one can guide to the best of them except You. And turn me away from bad manners, for no one can turn away bad manners from me except You.
Allahumma ihdini li-ahsani al-akhlaqi la yahdi li-ahsaniha illa ant, wasrif 'anni sayyi'aha la yasrif 'anni sayyi'aha illa ant

Virtues & Benefits
Seeking Allah's help for good character is a sign of humility and reliance on Him. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that the believers closest to him on the Day of Judgment will be those with the best manners (Sahih al-Tirmidhi 2021). A gentle demeanor attracts people, fosters strong relationships, and brings inner peace. This dua directly asks Allah for the ability to attain the highest standards of Islamic etiquette, which are rooted in mercy, patience, and wisdom.

‘Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to supplicate: 'Allahumma ihdini li-ahsani al-akhlaqi la yahdi li-ahsaniha illa ant, wasrif 'anni sayyi'aha la yasrif 'anni sayyi'aha illa ant.' (O Allah, guide me to the best of manners, for no one can guide to the best of them except You. And turn me away from bad manners, for no one can turn away bad manners from me except You.)
