Good Character
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 2671

يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ

O Turner of the hearts, keep my heart firm on Your religion.

Ya muqallibal-qulubi, thabbit qalbi 'ala deenik

When to Read

This is a profoundly important supplication, especially in moments when you feel wavering in your faith or when temptations seem overwhelming. Make it a consistent part of your daily duas, particularly after your obligatory prayers, and at any time you feel your resolve weakening. It's a direct appeal to Allah (SWT) for the strength to remain grounded in the truth.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincere intention and a humble heart. Picture your heart as something that can be turned or swayed, and consciously ask Allah (SWT), the One who has complete control over it, to keep it firm upon His path. Understanding the meaning – that Allah is the only one who can truly stabilize your faith – will deepen its impact.

Virtues & Benefits

The primary benefit of this dua is securing Allah's (SWT) help in maintaining one's faith and integrity. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ himself, despite his immense closeness to Allah and his impeccable character, would frequently make this dua. This shows us that even the best of us need constant reliance on Allah (SWT) to stay firm. It’s a powerful tool against succumbing to desires and distractions that pull us away from what is right.

Source & Authentication

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'The heart of the child of Adam is between two fingers from the fingers of the Most Merciful, and He turns it however He wills.' So, the Prophet ﷺ used to say: 'O Turner of the hearts, keep my heart firm on Your religion.' (Sahih Muslim 2671). This hadith highlights that our hearts are entirely in Allah's control, and thus, seeking His help to keep them steadfast is essential.
