How to Read

Recite this ayah with sincere intention, reflecting on the meaning of Allah's mercy. Raise your hands if possible, as is customary when making dua. Believe that Allah will respond to your supplication.

Virtues & Benefits

This verse encapsulates a profound request for divine mercy (rahmah) and righteous guidance (rushd). By asking Allah for mercy, we are essentially asking Him to soften our own hearts, enabling us to be compassionate towards others. It reminds us that all ease and goodness comes from Him, and that our own efforts for guidance are amplified by His grace. The entire Quran is a source of mercy, and this verse specifically calls upon that attribute of Allah.
