Gatherings & Meetings
Sahih HadithSahih al-Bukhari 6306

"Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You. I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek Your forgiveness and I turn to You in repentance."

Subhanakallahumma wa bihamdik, ash-hadu an la ilaha illa ant, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk

When to Read

This beautiful dua is recited at the end of gatherings, especially those that involve charitable acts or discussions about good deeds. It's perfect after finishing a community project, a fundraising event, or even a simple get-together where the intention was to please Allah. It acts as a spiritual cleanser, covering any unintentional shortcomings or idle talk that might have occurred.

How to Read

This dua is best recited with sincerity and a humble heart. It should be said aloud after the participants have dispersed or at the very end of the gathering, as the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught. Focus on the meaning of each word: acknowledging Allah's perfection, testifying to His oneness, and seeking His forgiveness and acceptance of your repentance.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua serves as an expiation for any minor sins or inappropriate speech that may have occurred during the gathering. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, 'Whoever sits in a gathering and his talk becomes excessive, and he says before he leaves the meeting: 'Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You. I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek Your forgiveness and I turn to You in repentance,' then it will be an expiation for what occurred in his meeting.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 6306). It ensures that our good deeds and gatherings are not marred by unintentional errors, and that our efforts are accepted by Allah.
