O Allah, I ask You to enable me to do good deeds, and to abandon evil deeds, and to love the poor, and that You forgive me and have mercy on me. And if You intend to try a people, then take me to Yourself without my being tried. And I ask You for Your love, and the love of those who love You, and the love of deeds which will bring me closer to Your love.

Allahumma inni as'aluka fi'la khayrat, wa tark munakarat, wa hubb al-masakin, wa an taghfir li, wa tarhamani, wa idha aradta fitnatan fi qawmin fa tawaffani ilayka ghayra maftun. Wa as'aluka hubbak, wa hubba man yuhibbuk, wa hubba 'amalin yuqarribuni ila hubbik.

Narrated Abdullah bin 'Amr: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Indeed, it is not for us to ask Allah to destroy the Mushrikin, nor to ask Him to inflict plagues upon them, nor to ask Him to starve them. Rather, ask Allah for your safety and your well-being, for indeed Allah will not be pleased with the affliction of His servant.' 'Abdullah bin 'Amr said: 'Allahumma inni as'aluka fi'la khayrat, wa tark munakarat, wa hubb al-masakin, wa an taghfir li, wa tarhamani, wa idha aradta fitnatan fi qawmin fa tawaffani ilayka ghayra maftun.
