The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'Whoever sits in a gathering and engages in much idle talk therein and then says before he departs: Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You. I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance. - Then that which was uttered in the gathering would be expiation for him.' (Sunan At-Tirmidhi 3436). It ensures that any unintentional wrongdoings, idle talk, or missed etiquettes are covered by Allah's immense mercy, leaving the gathering in a state of purity.
