اللَّهُمَّ لا سَهْلَ إِلا مَا جَعَلْتَهُ سَهْلاً وَأَنْتَ تَجْعَلُ الْحَزْنَ إِذَا شِئْتَ سَهْلاً
O Allah, there is no ease except in what You make easy, and You make sorrow, if You wish, easy.
Allahumma la sahla illa ma ja'altahu sahla, wa anta taj'alul-hazna idha shi'ta sahla.
When to Read
Friday is a blessed day, and it holds a special hour when duas are accepted. The Prophet ﷺ mentioned, "There is an hour on Friday when, if a Muslim happens to ask Allah for something good, He will give it to him." (Sahih al-Bukhari 935). Scholars widely agree this hour is after Asr prayer until Maghrib. While this dua can be recited at any time you face difficulty, making it during this precious window on Friday carries immense weight. Recite it when you are about to embark on a challenging task, face a significant decision, or feel overwhelmed by life's burdens, particularly during this blessed time.
How to Read
When you make this dua, approach Allah with a heart full of conviction and sincerity. Raise your hands, acknowledge His absolute power, and articulate your needs and aspirations. Remember that the Prophet ﷺ taught us that Allah is Hayy, Kareem, and shy to turn away His servant's hands empty when they are raised to Him in dua (Sunan Abu Dawud 1488). Reflect on the meaning of each phrase, internalizing the belief that only Allah can truly make things easy, no matter how daunting they seem. Be specific in your intentions: what obstacles do you want to overcome? What goals do you seek to achieve? Name them in your heart or silently as you supplicate.
