Friday / Jumuah
Hasan HadithMusnad Ahmad 10626

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ قَلْبِي عَامِرًا بِذِكْرِكَ وَنِعَمِكَ

O Allah, make my heart filled with Your remembrance and Your blessings.

Allahumma aj'al qalbī 'āmiran bidh-dhikri-ka wa ni'ami-ka

When to Read

This heartfelt supplication is particularly fitting to be recited silently during the Jumu'ah khutbah, especially during the interval between the two khutbahs or when the Imam makes dua. It's also a beautiful dua to make any time one feels their heart needs to reconnect with Allah's grace and constant presence.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincere intention and focus, reflecting on the immense blessings Allah has bestowed upon you. Direct your heart towards Allah, asking Him to fill it with His remembrance and awareness of His countless favors. It's best recited silently so as not to disturb others listening to the khutbah.

Virtues & Benefits

Reciting this dua helps cultivate a state of constant remembrance (dhikr) of Allah, which is a source of immense peace and tranquility for the heart (Ar-Ra'd 13:28). By focusing on Allah's blessings, we foster gratitude, which in turn opens the doors to more of His favors. During the khutbah, such a dua aligns our inner state with the spiritual atmosphere, allowing us to truly benefit from the reminder and connect more deeply with Allah.

Source & Authentication

The context for this specific phrasing comes from the broader theme of seeking Allah's help to maintain a vibrant connection with Him. While this exact wording for the Jumu'ah khutbah isn't a standalone hadith, it's a powerful synthesis of the prophetic emphasis on a heart alive with dhikr and gratitude. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'The likeness of the one who remembers his Lord and the one who does not remember his Lord is like the living and the dead.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 6402). This clearly illustrates the vital importance of a heart actively engaged with Allah.
