Friday / Jumuah
Sahih HadithKitab Ad-Da'awat (Book of Supplications) 2140

يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ

O Turner of the hearts, keep my heart firm on Your religion.

Ya Muqallibal qulub, thabbit qalbi 'ala deenik

When to Read

Fridays hold a special spiritual weight in our week, and the blessed hour before Maghrib prayer is a powerful time when duas are rarely rejected. This makes it an excellent moment to recite this prayer, reflecting on the week that was and seeking strength for the week ahead. But truthfully, the Prophet ﷺ made this dua frequently, not just on Fridays. You should feel comfortable turning to Allah with this prayer any time you feel your resolve weakening, when you're navigating social situations that challenge your values, or when external influences make it hard to stick to your Islamic principles.

How to Read

When you recite this profound dua, reflect on Allah's absolute sovereignty over hearts. He is Al-Muqallib al-Qulub, the One who constantly turns hearts. Acknowledge your inherent human weakness, your susceptibility to doubts and influences, and His unmatched strength. Articulate your specific struggles – perhaps the pressure from friends to attend an event or participate in an activity that goes against your conscience. Repeat it with sincerity, allowing its meaning to settle deep within you, trusting that Allah will grant you the firmness you seek.

Virtues & Benefits

Making this dua is a direct plea to Allah for **thabat** – steadfastness and firmness on His religion. The Prophet ﷺ himself would repeat it often, showing us its immense importance. In a world full of conflicting messages and social pressures, this dua becomes your spiritual anchor. It equips your heart with resilience, helping you stand firm on the truth even when it feels challenging or unpopular. You're asking for the inner strength to align your actions with your beliefs, securing your faith against external forces that might try to sway you. It's a path to inner peace and unwavering certainty.
