اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, pure sustenance, and accepted deeds.
Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan
When to Read
This powerful supplication is best recited in the morning after Fajr prayer on Friday. It's also highly recommended to make it part of your dua during the blessed hour of Friday (sa'at al-istijabah), often said to be between Asr and Maghrib. Making it a regular part of your Friday routine can significantly strengthen your connection with Allah and foster a deeper sense of tawakkul throughout your week.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction, focusing on the meaning of each request. Raise your hands as you supplicate, embodying the essence of reliance (tawakkul) on Allah. Believe in His ability to grant your requests and His wisdom in how He dispenses them. It's also beneficial to reflect on how these three pillars – beneficial knowledge, pure sustenance, and accepted deeds – are interconnected and essential for a life pleasing to Allah.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua encapsulates three vital aspects of a believer's life, all of which contribute to strengthening one's tawakkul: 1. **Beneficial Knowledge ('Ilman Nafi'an):** Knowledge that guides you, increases your understanding of Allah, and helps you act righteously is a foundation for true reliance. It helps you differentiate between what is truly good for you and what appears so, leading you to depend on Allah for genuine guidance. 2. **Pure Sustenance (Rizqan Tayyiban):** Seeking lawful and good provision is crucial. When we trust Allah to provide for us from pure sources, our hearts become at ease, knowing He is the ultimate provider and that what He gives is a blessing. 3. **Accepted Deeds ('Amalan Mutaqabbalan):** The ultimate goal is for our actions to be accepted by Allah. When we strive to do good deeds and sincerely ask Allah to accept them, we place our hope in His mercy and generosity, which is the essence of tawakkul. This dua, especially on a blessed day like Friday, serves as a spiritual anchor, reminding us that our success in this life and the hereafter is entirely dependent on Allah's grace and our sincere reliance upon Him.

Narrated by Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to say, when he said the morning prayer, when he had finished the prayer: "O Allah, I ask You for knowledge that is beneficial, and provision that is good and acceptable deeds."
