Narrated Abu Huraira: Abu Bakr As-Siddiq said: O Messenger of Allah, teach me words that I may say in the morning and evening. He said: O Abu Bakr, say: 'O Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the seen, Lord of all things and their Sovereign, I bear witness that there is no god but You, I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul and from the evil of the devil and his invitations to sin, and I seek to draw evil to myself or to cast it upon any Muslim.' And say: 'O Allah, forgive me my sins, the minor and the major, the first and the last, the open and the secret.' And say: 'O Allah, I ask You for the well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family and my property. O Allah, conceal my defects and calm my fears. O Allah, guard me from before me and from behind me, and from my right and from my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in Your might from being smitten down from beneath me.' And say: 'O Allah, Knower of the unseen and the seen, Originator of the heavens and the earth, Lord of all things and their Sovereign, I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul and from the evil of the devil and his invitations to sin, and from drawing evil upon myself or casting it upon any Muslim.'
