Narrated Abu Huraira: Abu Bakr As-Siddiq said: O Messenger of Allah, teach me words that I may say in the morning and evening. He said: O Abu Bakr, say: 'O Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the seen, Lord of all things and their Sovereign, I bear witness that there is no god but You, I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul and from the evil of the devil and his invitations to sin, and I seek to draw evil to myself or to cast it upon any Muslim.' And say: 'O Allah, forgive me my sins, the minor and the major, the first and the last, the open and the secret.' And say: 'O Allah, I ask You for the well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family and my property. O Allah, conceal my defects and calm my fears. O Allah, guard me from before me and from behind me, and from my right and from my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in Your might from being smitten down from beneath me.' And say: 'O Allah, Knower of the unseen and the seen, Originator of the heavens and the earth, Lord of all things and their Sovereign, I bear witness that there is no god but You.
