O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your decree concerning me is executed. Your judgment upon me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or which You have retained in the knowledge of the unseen with You, to make the Quran the springtime of my heart, the light of my chest, the remover of my sadness, and the banisher of my worries.
Allahumma inni 'abduk, ibnu 'abdik, ibnu amatik, nasiyati bi-yadik, madin fiyya hukmuk, 'adlun fiyya qada'uk. As'aluka bi-kulli ismin huwa lak, sammayta bihi nafsak, aw anzaltahu fi kitibik, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqik, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilmil-ghaybi 'indak, an taj'ala al-Qur'ana rabi'a qalbi, wa nura sadri, wa jala'a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi.

Source & Authentication
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught this dua to a man who complained about the hardship of his life and his worries. The Prophet (peace be upon him) told him to make dua to Allah with this supplication, as it contains a comprehensive asking from Allah using His most beautiful names and attributes, and seeking the greatest of means to Allah's pleasure and relief. Narrated by Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): We were with the Prophet (peace be upon him) on a journey, and he said: 'Is there any of you who has provisions?' So, he came to a man, and he said: 'Do you have any provisions?' He said: 'Yes, I have a little fat, and some dates.' So, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Bring them to me.' So, he brought them, and he kneaded them together with his hand, and the men said: 'What is this?' He said: 'By Allah, I was going to kill you, but I wanted to see if you would be pleased with what Allah had decreed for you. When Allah is pleased with a servant, He puts blessings in what He decrees for him.' Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Shall I not teach you a dua that Allah taught me?' So he said: 'Yes, teach me.' So, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Say: O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your decree concerning me is executed. Your judgment upon me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or which You have retained in the knowledge of the unseen with You, to make the Quran the springtime of my heart, the light of my chest, the remover of my sadness, and the banisher of my worries.' So, a man said: 'O Messenger of Allah, should we learn these words?' He said: 'Yes, it is befitting for him who hears them to learn them.'
