Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel

When to Read

This powerful statement is a cornerstone of Tawakkul (reliance on Allah) and is particularly relevant when facing overwhelming fear, uncertainty, or potential hardship, such as the fear of sudden loss. Recite it wholeheartedly during times of anxiety, before embarking on something daunting, or simply as a daily affirmation of trust in Allah's plan.

How to Read

Recite this with sincere conviction, truly believing in Allah's sufficiency and His perfect management of all affairs. It can be recited anytime, anywhere. It's not just the words, but the heart's connection to their meaning that holds power. Imagine your worries being placed firmly in Allah's care.

Virtues & Benefits

This utterance was famously said by Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) when he was cast into the fire, and by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ when the disbelievers said, 'Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them.' (Surah Al-Imran 3:173). Allah then revealed the ayah 'So they returned with favour from Allah and grace by which no harm touched them' (Surah Al-Imran 3:174). It signifies profound reliance on Allah, assuring that He is enough to protect and guide us through any trial, bringing peace to the heart when fear of loss looms.

Source & Authentication

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: 'Allah (Alone) is sufficient for us and He is the best Disposer of affairs.' (This was said by Ibrahim (peace be upon him) when he was thrown into the fire, and it was said by Muhammad ﷺ when the people said: 'Verily the people have gathered against you, so fear them, but it only increased their faith, and they said: Allah (Alone) is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.')
