Fear
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 2721

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the passing away of Your blessings, and from the change of Your protection, and from the sudden punishment, and from all Your displeasure. And I seek refuge in You from sudden punishment. And I seek refuge in You from the hardships of affliction, and from the depths of misery, and from evil decree, and from the rejoicing of enemies. O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in all affairs, and resolve in the right course. And I ask You for the means to be thankful for Your blessings, and to worship You in the best manner. And I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue. And I ask You for the good You know, and I seek refuge in You from the evil You know, and I seek Your forgiveness for what You know. Verily, You are the Knower of the unseen.

Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matik, wa tahawwuli 'afiyatik, wa fuj'ati niqmatik, wa jami'i sakhatik. Wa a'udhu bika min fuj'ati an-niqmah. Wa a'udhu bika min jahd al-bala', wa darak ash-shaqa', wa su' al-qada', wa shamatat al-a'da'. Allahumma inni as'alukal-thabat fil-amr, wal-'azimah 'ala ar-rushd. Innaka anta 'allamul-ghuyub.

Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to teach them (i.e., his companions) in the manner he taught them the Qur'an, saying: 'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matik, wa tahawwuli 'afiyatik, wa fuj'ati niqmatik, wa jami'i sakhatik. Wa a'udhu bika min fuj'ati an-niqmah. Wa a'udhu bika min jahd al-bala', wa darak ash-shaqa', wa su' al-qada', wa shamatat al-a'da'. Allahumma inni as'alukal-thabat fil-amr, wal-'azimah 'ala ar-rushd. Innaka anta 'allamul-ghuyub.' (Allahumma, I seek refuge in You from the disappearance of Your favors, and the change of Your well-being, and the sudden retribution, and all that You are displeased with. And I seek refuge in You from sudden punishment. And I seek refuge in You from the hardship of tribulation, and from the reaching of misery, and from evil decree, and from the rejoicing of enemies. O Allah, I ask You for firmness in the affair and steadfastness in guidance, and I ask You for the means to thank You for Your blessings and to worship You well. And I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue. And I ask You of the good You know, and I seek refuge in You from the evil You know, and I ask Your forgiveness for that which You know. Verily You are the Knower of the unseen.)
