Ibn Abbas narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'When one of you sees something from his brother, or his self, or his wealth which impresses him, let him invoke the blessing of Allah upon him, for the evil eye is indeed a reality.' (Sunan Abi Dawud 5105). Another narration adds: 'If one of you sees his brother with something that pleases him, let him supplicate for him, for the evil eye is real.' (Narrated by Ahmad. It is considered Hasan by Al-Albani). The specific words taught by the Prophet ﷺ in such instances include: 'May Allah bless it for you, and bestow His blessings upon you, and bring you together in goodness.' (Sunan Abi Dawud 5105).
