Source & Authentication
When the evening came, the Prophet ﷺ stood up and said: 'O people, tonight the earth has been struck by a shooting star. So do not say that such and such is like that, and do not say that the star has stoned so and so. But whoever said something like that should seek refuge in Allah and say: Bismillahilladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa huwas-Samee'ul-Aleem. (In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing).' [Narrated by Abu Dawud, At-Tirmidhi, and Ahmad. Al-Albani graded it Sahih.] Another narration states: 'Whoever says this three times in the morning, nothing will harm him until he reaches the evening. And whoever says it three times in the evening, nothing will harm him until he reaches the morning.' [Sahih Muslim 4/2269]
