Narrated Ibn Abbas: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'The evil eye is real, and if anything would overcome the decree of fate, it would be the evil eye. When you are given a bath (because of being affected by the evil eye), you should bathe for [the evil eye].' Sahih al-Bukhari 5738. Another narration from Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) states that if someone complained to the Prophet ﷺ about the evil eye, he would point to his own forehead and say, 'Bismillah, a'udhu billahi min sharriha' (In the name of Allah. I seek refuge in Allah from its evil).
