In the name of Allah. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul, and from the evil of every creature You are seizing by its forelock. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the whispers of the devils, and I seek refuge in You, my Lord, lest they be present with me.
Bismillah, Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min sharri nafsi, wa min sharri kulli dabbati anta akhidun binasiyatiha. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min hamazatish-shayatin, wa a'udhu bika Rabbi an yahdurun.
When to Read
Recite this dua whenever you hear people speaking negatively about you, backbiting, or gossiping. It's particularly potent when you feel the sting of their words or suspect it stems from envy (hasad) or ill-will, which can sometimes manifest as the 'evil eye' (al-'ayn). Reciting it consistently as a shield is a proactive measure against spiritual harm caused by others' harsh words.
How to Read
Utter this dua with sincerity and a firm belief in Allah's power to protect. Face the Qiblah if possible, though this is not a strict condition. Raise your hands to your chest height, palms facing upwards, as you supplicate. Focus on the meaning of the words, understanding that you are entrusting yourself and your well-being to the Almighty Creator. It is recommended to repeat it three times for added benefit, as is the Sunnah in many supplications.
Virtues & Benefits
