Abu Salamah reported: I asked Umm al-Mu'minin, 'Aishah, 'Did the Prophet ﷺ pray while lying down?' She said: 'Yes, when he was praying. And indeed, one of you might be woken from his sleep and pray while lying down. He used to seek refuge in Allah from the evil of old age and the evil of the night when it darkens, and the evil of the day when it dawns, and the evil of the Jewess, and the evil of the Christian, and the evil of Satan and the evil of the Dajjal.' She said: 'He did not used to supplicate with these words, but rather he used to say: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the trial of the Fire and the punishment of the Fire, and the trial of the grave and the punishment of the grave, and the evil of the trial of wealth, and the evil of the trial of poverty. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of the trial of the Dajjal. O Allah, wash my heart with the water of snow and hail, and cleanse my heart from sins as a white garment is cleansed from dirt, and keep me far from my sins as You have kept the East and the West far apart. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from laziness, and from old age, and from sin, and from debt. And I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave and the punishment of the Fire, and I seek refuge in You from four.'" He did not mention them. And he said: 'And I seek refuge in You from a heart that has no reverence, and from a prayer that is not answered, and from a soul that is never satisfied, and from knowledge that does not benefit.' Then he said: 'I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan, from his malice, his arrogance, and his poetry.' Abu 'Isa said: This hadith is Hasan Sahih. And in this matter, there is also a narration from Abdullah ibn Amr. And the hadith of Abdullah ibn Amr is more authentic.
