بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

Bismillahilladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i, wa Huwas-Sami'ul-'Aleem.

When to Read

This powerful dua is recommended to be recited in the evening, after sunset. It's a beautiful way to entrust yourself and your family to Allah's care as the night begins, asking for protection from all harm.

How to Read

Recite this supplication with sincerity and certainty in your heart. Believe that Allah (SWT) is the One who protects. It is typically recited three times in the evening, just as the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to recite it in the morning as well, seeking the same divine protection throughout the day and night.

Virtues & Benefits

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'Whoever says this three times in the morning will be protected from calamities until nightfall. And whoever says it three times in the evening will be protected from calamities until morning.' (Sunan Abi Dawud 5088). Reciting this dua shields us from physical, spiritual, and environmental harm. It's a direct connection to Allah's power, acknowledging His absolute dominion and that nothing can touch us without His permission.

Narrated by Abu al-Darda: The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'Whoever says: *Bismillahilladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i, wa Huwas-Sami'ul-'Aleem* (In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing) three times in the morning, will be protected from calamities until nightfall. And whoever says it three times in the evening, will be protected from calamities until morning.' (Sunan Abi Dawud 5088, Sahih al-Tirmidhi 3388).
