Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a man came to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what a night I had last night!' The Prophet ﷺ asked: 'What happened?' He said: 'I was stung by a scorpion.' He (the Prophet ﷺ) said: 'When it was evening, you should have said: *Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min sharri ma khalaq* (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of all that You have created), for if you said it in the evening and a creature did not come to sting you that night, then its like would not harm you the next morning.'
