بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ العَلِيمُ
In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

Narrated by Aban ibn Uthman: My father narrated that he heard the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ say: 'Whoever says: *Bismillahilladhi la yadurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa Huwas-Samee'ul-Aleem* (In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing), three times in the morning, will not be afflicted by sudden calamity until the morning, and whoever says it three times in the evening, will not be afflicted by sudden calamity until the morning.' Aban said: 'And my father, who was a strong man, was struck by paralysis, and a man started looking at him. So Aban said to him: 'What are you looking at?' He said: 'This hadith which I heard from him.' Aban said: 'He did not say it once on that day, but he did not escape the paralysis.'
