The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) passed by Abu Bakr while he was saying something in a low voice. He asked: 'What is this, O Abu Bakr?' He replied: 'I am saying something that is between me and my Lord.' He said: 'Perhaps it is the remembrance of Allah.' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Then supplicate with this: O Allah, help me to remember You, to thank You, and to worship You in the best manner.' (Abu Dawud said: This is a narration of the same meaning by other chains of transmission.)
