بِسْمِ اللهِ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللهِ، وَلا حَوْلَ وَلا قُوَّةَ إِلا بِاللهِ
In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, and there is no might nor power except with Allah.
Bismillah, tawakkaltu 'alallah, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.
When to Read
This powerful dua is recommended to be recited when starting any task or endeavor, including tackling your evening chores and responsibilities. As the day winds down and you prepare for the tasks that often accompany the evening – whether it's cooking, cleaning, preparing for the next day, or attending to family needs – reciting this helps you approach them with a mindset of reliance on Allah.
How to Read
Recite this with sincerity and a full heart, acknowledging that true strength and ability to complete tasks come only from Allah. Utter it before you begin your chores, visualizing Allah's assistance accompanying your efforts. The mere act of saying it is an acknowledgment of His power and your dependence on Him.
Virtues & Benefits
This supplication is a profound declaration of Tawakkul (trust and reliance on Allah). When a person says this, it is said to them: 'You are guided, you are defended, and your needs will be met.' It shifts the burden from your own limited strength to Allah's infinite power, bringing peace and barakah (blessings) to your efforts, making even mundane tasks feel lighter and more manageable.

Narrated by Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "When a person goes out of his house and says, 'Bismillah, tawakkaltu 'alallah, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah,' it will be said to him: 'You have been sufficed, defended, and guided.' And the devil will stay away from him. Another devil says to him: 'How can you deal with a person who has been guided, defended, and sufficed?'
