In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing in the earth nor in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
Bismillahilladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa huwas-Sami'ul-'Aleem
When to Read
This powerful dua is recommended to be recited in the evening, after Maghrib prayer, and also in the morning. As the evening descends, our minds can sometimes drift, replaying past events or worrying about the future. Reciting this dua helps safeguard our hearts and minds, especially during this transitional time, preventing intrusive thoughts and anxieties from taking root.
How to Read
Recite this supplication sincerely, focusing on the meaning and the power of Allah's names and attributes mentioned. Utter it with conviction, trusting that Allah (SWT) will protect you from all harm, seen and unseen. It's best recited three times in the morning and three times in the evening to ensure comprehensive protection.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua is a shield against harm and negative thoughts. By invoking Allah's name, the one who recites it is seeking His divine protection. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ promised that whoever says this three times in the morning will not be afflicted by any calamity until evening, and whoever says it three times in the evening will not be afflicted by any calamity until morning. This protection extends to physical, emotional, and spiritual harm, including the insidious 'harm' of dwelling on the past and allowing it to disrupt our peace.
