The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: When any one of you goes to bed, he should rest for a while on his bed first, then say: 'Bismika Rabbi wada'tu janbi, wa bika arfa'uhu. In amsakta nafsi farhamha, wa in arsaltaha fahfadha bima tahfazu bihi 'ibadakas-salihin.' (In Your name, my Lord, I lay down my side, and in Your name, I rise from it. If You seize my soul, then have mercy upon it. And if You send it back, then protect it with what You protect Your righteous servants.) Sahih al-Bukhari 6306.
