اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ قَبُولَ دُعَائِي فِي المَسَاءِ
O Allah, I ask You to accept my supplication in the evening.
Allahumma inni as'aluka qaboola du'a'i fil-masaa'
When to Read
This dua is specifically for the evening. It's a beautiful practice to recite it as you begin your evening supplications, perhaps after the Maghrib prayer, or as you settle down for the night, reflecting on the day and seeking Allah's acceptance for any duas you've made or will make.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and a hopeful heart, turning to Allah with humility. It is recommended to have your hands raised in supplication, facing the Qiblah if possible, and to begin with praising Allah and sending Salawat upon the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Virtues & Benefits
The primary benefit of this dua is seeking Allah's mercy and acceptance. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us the importance of asking Allah for acceptance, as our worship and supplications are only valuable if accepted by Him. By specifically asking for acceptance in the evening, we are aligning ourselves with the times when supplications are often considered more potent, and showing our reliance on Allah's grace.

Ibn Majah narrated from Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'Whoever says when he enters the evening: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ قَبُولَ دُعَائِي فِي المَسَاءِ (Allahumma inni as'aluka qaboola du'a'i fil-masaa') – 'O Allah, I ask You to accept my supplication in the evening' – Allah will accept his supplication.' (Graded Sahih by Al-Albani in Sahih Ibn Majah).
