Dua for a Blessed Evening Gathering

Daily Evening Routine
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 2709

In the name of Allah, we have entered the evening and the entire creation has entered the evening, and all sovereignty belongs to Allah. All praise is due to Allah. There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. My Lord, I ask You for the goodness of this night and the goodness of what follows it. I seek refuge in You from the evil of this night and the evil of what follows it. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from laziness and the evil of old age. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the Fire and the punishment of the grave.

Bismillah, asbahna wa asbahal mulku lillah, walhamdulillah, la ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah, rabbi as'aluka khaira hadhihil-laylati wa khaira ma fiha, wa a'udhu bika min sharri hadhihil-laylati wa sharri ma fiha. Rabbi a'udhu bika minal-kasali wa sui'il-kibar. Rabbi a'udhu bika min 'adhdhabin fin-nari wa 'adhdhabin fil-qabr.

Source & Authentication

It was narrated from Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: When it is evening, you should say: 'Asbahna wa asbahal mulku lillah... (and he mentioned the Hadith). And when it is morning, you should say: 'Asbahna 'ala fitratil-Islam wa 'ala kalimatil-Ikhlas, wa 'ala dini Nabiyyina Muhammadin (ﷺ), wa 'ala millati Abi-na Ibrahim, hanifan Musliman wa ma kana minal-mushrikin.' (We have entered the morning upon the natural disposition of Islam, and upon the word of sincerity, and upon the religion of our Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), and upon the creed of our father Ibrahim. He was a Muslim and was not among the polytheists.)
