Dua for the Acceptance of Duas and Actions in the Evening

Evening Adhkar
Hasan HadithSunan Ibn Majah 925

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, pure provision, and accepted deeds.

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.

When to Read

This beautiful dua is recommended to be recited in the morning, but its spirit of seeking acceptance for our actions is crucial for the evening as well. As the day winds down, we can reflect on our deeds and earnestly ask Allah for them to be accepted. It fits perfectly within the evening adhkar (remembrance), a time to connect with our Creator after the day's efforts.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincere intention and a hopeful heart. Focus on the meaning of each request: knowledge that benefits us, provision that is lawful and good, and actions that are pleasing to Allah. It's a concise yet powerful supplication that can be said after your Asr prayer or as part of your evening remembrance routine. Pause for a moment to reflect on your day and how you can strive to ensure your actions are for the sake of Allah.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua encompasses three vital aspects of a Muslim's life: seeking beneficial knowledge that guides us and increases our understanding of faith, asking for pure and lawful provision (rizq tayyib) which brings blessings and contentment, and most importantly, requesting that our deeds are accepted by Allah. Acceptance of deeds is the ultimate goal, as even great acts of worship are worthless without Allah's acceptance. By asking for accepted deeds, we are seeking Allah's mercy and favor, which is the key to success in this life and the next.
