In the name of Allah. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from devils, both male and female.

The Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ taught us this supplication to seek Allah's protection in a place where we are vulnerable and exposed. Bathrooms are known to be places where evil spirits (khubuth and khaba'ith) are prevalent. By reciting this dua, we invoke Allah's name and seek His refuge, turning what could be a place of spiritual harm into one of safety under His watchful care. This act demonstrates our reliance on Allah even in the most private of moments, acknowledging His presence and protection everywhere.

Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (๏ทบ) said, 'When one of you enters the toilet, he should say: Bismillah, Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-khubuthi wal-khaba'ith.' (In the name of Allah. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from devils, both male and female.) Sahih al-Bukhari 6306. Another narration in Sahih Muslim states: Anas reported that the Prophet (๏ทบ) used to say when he went to the toilet: 'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-khubuthi wal-khaba'ith.' Sahih Muslim 375.
