โœฆ

In the name of Allah. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the male devils and female devils (or evil and wicked things).

Bismillahi, Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-khubuthi wal-khaba'ith.

When to Read

This dua is recited immediately before entering the bathroom or toilet. It's a practice of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to seek Allah's protection in a place where one might be more susceptible to impurities and negative influences.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and awareness of its meaning. It's generally recited before stepping in with the left foot, though the primary emphasis is on the remembrance of Allah and seeking His refuge. It's an act of purifying oneself externally and internally before a private act.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua is a powerful shield against the whispers and harm of Shaytan (Satan) and evil Jinn, who are known to frequent such places. By invoking Allah's name and seeking His refuge, we are actively distancing ourselves from their malevolence and maintaining a connection with our Creator even in private moments. It's a profound reminder that Allah's presence and protection extend everywhere, and that seeking His help is crucial in all aspects of our lives.
