بِسْمِ اللهِ، اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّىْۤ اَعُوْذُبِكَ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَآئِثِ
In the name of Allah. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the male devils and female devils.
Bismillah, Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal khubuthi wal khaba'ith.
When to Read
This dua is recited immediately before entering the bathroom or toilet. It's a profound acknowledgment of our need for Allah's protection even in a place that might seem ordinary, recognizing that these spaces can be inhabited by unseen forces. Think about it: we cover ourselves in so many ways, physically and spiritually. This dua is our spiritual armor, a way to invoke Allah's presence and ward off any negative influences before we expose ourselves in such a private space.
How to Read
Utter this dua with sincerity before stepping into the bathroom. It's typically said while standing at the entrance. The act of saying it, even if whispered, signifies a conscious turning to Allah for safety. Remember, the intention behind the dua is as important as the words themselves. Visualize Allah's protection enveloping you as you say it.
Virtues & Benefits
This supplication invokes Allah's protection against the malevolent jinn (khubuth) and female jinn (khaba'ith) who are known to frequent such places. By reciting this, we create a barrier of divine protection around ourselves, ensuring our safety from their mischief and harm. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this dua as a practical way to seek Allah's aid in our daily lives, demonstrating that no aspect of our existence is too small to be brought under Allah's care and protection. It's a beautiful reminder that Allah's protection extends everywhere, and all we need to do is ask.
