Sahih HadithSahih al-Bukhari 142

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ

In the name of Allah. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the male and female devils (or from evil and wicked things).

Bismillah, Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-khubuthi wal-khaba'ith

When to Read

This dua is recited just before entering the bathroom (toilet/washroom). It's a specific supplication to seek Allah's protection as we enter a place where evil spirits are known to reside, and it is considered an impure place.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity before stepping into the bathroom with your left foot. It is recommended to enter with the left foot and exit with the right foot. Say it clearly and with conviction.

By reciting this dua, we are following the Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and seeking Allah's divine protection from unseen evils and impurities.
