بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
In the name of Allah, the one with Whose name nothing on earth or in heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

Virtues & Benefits
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ promised that whoever recites this dua in the morning and evening will not be afflicted by any sudden calamity until morning comes, and if he recites it in the evening, he will not be afflicted by any sudden calamity until morning comes. (Sahih Abu Dawud 5088). This means Allah grants a special protection against sudden, unexpected misfortunes.

Narrated by Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'No servant says in the morning of each day and the evening of each night: 'Bismillah alladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa huwa As-Samee'u Al-'Aleem' (In the name of Allah, the one with Whose name nothing on earth or in heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing) – three times – but that nothing will harm him.'
