حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ
Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.
Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel
When to Read
This powerful statement is uttered when facing overwhelming challenges, particularly those that impact our closest circles – our families. Whether it's a sudden illness, financial strain, internal conflict, or any other tribulation that shakes the foundation of family peace, reciting this affirms our absolute reliance on Allah. It’s a declaration made when human efforts seem to fall short and we need to surrender the outcome to the One who controls all affairs.
How to Read
Recite this with sincere conviction, directing your heart fully towards Allah. It’s more than just words; it's an act of deep trust and surrender. Imagine yourself placing the burden of the crisis squarely in Allah's hands. Repeat it as many times as needed, especially during moments of intense worry or helplessness. Take a moment to truly contemplate the meaning of 'Hasbunallah' – that He is enough, our protector, our provider, our ultimate support.
Virtues & Benefits
The profound benefit of this declaration lies in the immense peace and strength it brings. When the Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was thrown into the fire, this was his response, and Allah made the fire a coolness and safety for him (Sahih al-Bukhari 4563). Similarly, when the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) were told by the polytheists that 'the people have gathered against you, so fear them,' they responded with this very phrase, and it increased them in faith and they said, 'Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs' (Sahih al-Bukhari 4563). It signifies a turning point from anxiety to tranquility, empowering us to face difficulties with resilience, knowing that Allah's plan is perfect and His support is unwavering.
