Dua for Strength to Accept Allah's Decree in Hardship

Difficulty
Sahih HadithSunan An-Nasa'i 1306

O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness at the time of death, and guidance when people go astray. I ask You for coolness of the eye that never ceases, and I ask You for contentment after the decree. I ask You for a pleasant life after death, and I ask You for the delight of looking at Your Face, and the longing to meet You, without any harmful distress or misleading trials. O Allah, adorn us with the adornment of faith, and make us leaders who guide others and are guided.

Allahumma inni as'alukath-thabata 'indal-mawt, war-rashada 'inda dalalil-aqwam, wa as'aluka qurrata 'aynin la tanfadu, wa as'alukar-ridha ba'dal-qada', wa as'aluka barda al-'ayshi ba'dal-mawt, wa as'aluka ladhdhatan-nadhar ila wajhik, wash-shawqa ila liqa'ik, fi ghayri dharra'in mudirratin, wa la fitnatin mudillatin. Allahumma zayyinna bizeenatil-iman, waj'alna hudatan muhtadeen.
