Virtues & Benefits
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ informed us about the immense benefit of this dua. He said, 'Whoever says this three times in the morning will not be afflicted by any sudden calamity until the evening, and whoever says it three times in the evening will not be afflicted by any sudden calamity until the morning.' Source & Authentication
A man said: O Messenger of Allah, what calamity has descended upon us from the sky during the night, or what has happened during the day? He said: That is because of the earth trembling. They said: O Messenger of Allah, how shall we speak when our Lord is near? He said: Yes. Then he said: Pray to Allah in the morning and in the evening, saying: 'Bismillah alladhi la yadhurru ma'a ismihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa huwa as-sami'ul-'alim.' (In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing). So he said this, and the earth stopped trembling. (Sunan Abi Dawud 3867)
