Narrated by Abu Ad-Darda': The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whoever says in the morning: 'Allahumma anta Rabbi, la ilaha illa anta, 'alaika tawakkaltu wa anta Rabbul-'arshil-'azeem. Ma sha'a Allahu kana, wa ma lam yasha' lam yakun, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billahil-'aliyyil-'azeem. A'lamu annallaha 'ala kulli shay'in qadeer, wa annallaha qad ahata bikulli shay'in 'ilman. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min sharri nafsi wa min sharri kulli dabbaatin anta ahidhun binasiyatiha. Inna Rabbi 'ala Siratim Mustaqeem' (O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. I trust in You and You are the Lord of the great Throne. What Allah wills comes to be, and what He does not will, does not happen. There is no might nor power except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great. I know that Allah is Able to do everything, and Allah has indeed encompassed all things in knowledge. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul and from the evil of every creature which You seize by its forelock. Verily my Lord is on the Right Path), will be protected (from all evils) for the whole day until the evening. And whoever says it in the evening will be protected until the morning." There is another narration through Abu Dawud, which is more specific to protection from harm: It was narrated from Abu Ad-Darda' that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "He who says: > **Arabic:** بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ > **Translation:** 'In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing on earth or in heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing,' ... three times every morning, will not be afflicted by sudden calamity until the morning, and whoever says it three times in the evening will not be afflicted by sudden calamity until the morning." — Sahih Muslim 2708, Sunan Abi Dawud 3867.
