Difficulty
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 1344

In the name of Allah, my Lord, I ask You for the goodness of this journey and the goodness of what it contains, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this journey and the evil of what it contains. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the hardships of travel, and from the sorrow of returning, and from misfortune after good fortune. And I seek refuge in You from a bad view concerning my property and my family.

Bismillahi, Rabbi as'aluka khaira hazas-safari wa khaira ma fihi wa a'udhu bika min sharri hazas-safari wa sharri ma fihi. Rabbi a'udhu bika min wa'tha'is-safari wa ka'abatil-munqalabi wal-hawri ba'dal-kawri, wa a'udhu bika min su'il-mandhari fil-mali wal-ahl.

Source & Authentication

‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) used to say, when he mounted his camel for the journey: ‘Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest)’ three times, and then he would say: ‘Glory be to Him Who has subjected this to us, though we could never have accomplished it by ourselves. And to our Lord, we shall surely return.’ (32:12-13). And he would say: ‘O Allah, we ask You for goodness and piety in this journey of ours, and for deeds that win Your pleasure. We ask You for righteousness and good deeds. O Allah, make this journey easy for us and make its distance short for us. O Allah, You are the Companion in the journey and the Successor in the family. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardship of the journey, from seeing a sorrowful sight, and from finding myself in a bad situation regarding my property and family.’ And when he returned, he would recite these words and say: ‘We return, repenting to our Lord, worshipping and praising Him.’ (Sahih Muslim 1344)
