اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَجْعَلُكَ فِي نُحُورِهِمْ وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شُرُورِهِمْ

O Allah, we place You before them and we seek refuge in You from their evil.

Allahumma inna naj'aluka fi nuhurihim wa na'udhu bika min shururihim

When to Read

This powerful dua is particularly recommended when facing a group of enemies, be they literal adversaries, those who oppress or plot against you, or even overwhelming negative forces. Recite it when you feel threatened, outnumbered, or when injustice seems to be closing in. It's a moment to turn directly to Allah, acknowledging your human limitations and His infinite power.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and firm conviction in Allah's power to protect. Imagine placing Allah as a shield directly in front of you, confronting the threat, while simultaneously seeking His refuge from the harm they might intend. It's a dua of both proactive reliance and seeking sanctuary. It’s best recited with hands raised, as is customary when making dua, facing the direction of the threat if possible, or simply turning towards the Qibla.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua is a direct supplication to Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) asking for His ultimate protection. When we ask Allah to be 'in our front' (nuhurihim), we are essentially asking Him to confront the enemy on our behalf, acknowledging that no power can stand against His. Simultaneously, seeking refuge ('na'udhu bika') from their evil highlights our dependence on Him to ward off any harm they plan or intend. It embodies the core Islamic principle of tawakkul (reliance on Allah) while taking necessary practical measures.

Source & Authentication

Narrated by Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him): When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) feared a people, he would say: اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَجْعَلُكَ فِي نُحُورِهِمْ وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شُرُورِهِمْ. (Allahumma inna naj'aluka fi nuhurihim wa na'udhu bika min shururihim) O Allah, we place You before them and we seek refuge in You from their evil. (Sunan Abi Dawud 1537, Sahih)
