أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ، وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍ.
I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from every devil and every beast, and from every evil eye.
A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min kulli shaitanin wa hammah, wa min kulli 'ainin lammah.
When to Read
This is a powerful dua for general protection, and particularly potent when you feel the effects of envy or jealousy from others, or fear it might strike. Recite it in the morning and evening, and anytime you feel a sense of unease or suspect someone's ill intentions stemming from envy.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincere belief and conviction in Allah's power to protect. It's recommended to raise your hands slightly when making dua. Focus on the meaning, visualizing Allah's shield enveloping you. You can also gently blow on yourself after reciting.

This supplication is a direct teaching from the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ for seeking refuge from all forms of harm, including the 'evil eye' which is often the manifestation of envy. By reciting it, you are actively invoking Allah's ultimate protection against those who might wish you harm out of jealousy.

Narrated by Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (ﷺ) used to seek refuge for Al-Hasan and Al-Husain (may Allah be pleased with them) saying: 'I seek your protection with Allah's perfect words from every devil and from every poisonous beast and from every evil eye.' Then he would say: 'Al-Hasan and Al-Husain were protected by Allah.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 3308).
